Privacy Policy

Dream Director is operated by an individual founder based in the Netherlands. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

1. Who we are

Dream Director is a pre-launch sleep and dream-direction app. We are currently in the waitlist phase, operating from the Netherlands. Our website is dreamdirector.app and our contact email is hello@dreamdirector.app.

Because we are based in the Netherlands, we operate under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or anywhere else in the world, these protections apply to your data.

2. What data we collect and why

Waitlist email address. When you join our waitlist, we store your email address. We use it to notify you when the app launches, to send you a confirmation email, and to send occasional product updates. That's it. We do not share it, sell it, or use it for advertising.

Usage data (not yet collected). Once the app launches, we will collect data necessary for the app to function — including session logs, dream logs, and intention history. This data is personal and sensitive. We will update this policy before the app launches with full details of how that data is handled. Dream logs will never be used to train third-party AI models without your explicit, informed consent.

Technical data. Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and database provider (Supabase) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser type. We do not use this data for profiling. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts on this website.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process your email address on the basis of consent — you provided it voluntarily when joining the waitlist. You can withdraw this consent and have your data deleted at any time by emailing hello@dreamdirector.app.

4. Who we share your data with

We use the following third-party services to operate this website. These are data processors acting on our behalf:

• Supabase — stores your email address in a secure database. Supabase is GDPR compliant and stores data on servers in the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy →
• Resend — used to send confirmation emails. Your email address is passed to Resend solely for delivery purposes. Resend Privacy Policy →

We do not share your data with anyone else. We will never sell your data.

5. Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. GitHub Pages may set technical cookies required for basic site functionality. No advertising or profiling cookies are used.

6. Data retention

We retain waitlist email addresses until the app launches or until you ask to be removed, whichever comes first. If the app does not launch, we will delete all waitlist data.

7. Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights:

• Access — you can ask what data we hold about you.
• Correction — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion — you can ask us to delete your data at any time ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — you can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — you can object to processing at any time.
• Withdraw consent — you can unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dreamdirector.app. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. Data security

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled. Access is restricted to authorised services only. We do not store passwords. We use HTTPS throughout.

9. Children

Dream Director is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we will delete the data promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the product develops, particularly before the app launches and when new data processing begins. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes, we will notify waitlist members by email.
